SUNBURN FESTIVAL

Sunburn is an electronic dance music festival held in Candolim Beach, Goa, India. Its main genre of music is Electronic Dance, Trance, House and Dubstep. The festival is a combination of music, entertainment, food and shopping. It was also ranked the ninth best festival in the world by CNN in 2009. The festival is organized by Shailendra Singh of Percept, in partnership with Nikhil Chinapa.

Sunburn is not only a festival anymore, its a brand of its own. Initially started in 2007 in Goa, Sunburn is a 3 day music dance festival held at the Candolim Beach, Goa. With one of the top dj's across the globe, sunburn features various stages playing simultaneously. After the success of Sunburn 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 in Goa. Percept organized their first ever Sunburn festival outside Goa in Colombo, Mumbai and Delhi in 2012. With a massive crowd and crazy music fans, these Sunburn festivals were also reportedly a great success, taking the Sunburn festival to a different level.

Sunburn 2007 :

Early 2007, Percept had a brainchild. India needed to experience its very own festival. Not just any festival, but the cream of the crop of festivals in the country. This was Devraj Sanyal, Manuj Agarwal and Aman Anand’s calling and together they conspired to give birth to India’s own festival of a legend. Sunburn 2007, Goa, a festival, an extravagance event. It gave a new birth to the event industry in India. With a number of sponsors and partners, Sunburn festival was a massive hit and it gave India a lifetime experience which was much needed. The line up included one of the top dj's like Above and Beyond, Axewell, Carl Cox, John 00 Fleming, Pearl, Midival Punditz as the headliner with various more small acts consisting of Jalabee Cartel, Nawed khan, Clement and many more. The festival was hosted by Nikhil Chinapa and Rohit Barker. The event partners and sponsors were Smirnoff, Submerge, Tito's, PDM and many more.

Sunburn 2008 :

Sunburn festival reached another year full of mixed emotions since Sunburn 2007 reached a different level, expectations and artist line up was raised to a different level. With the success of Sunburn 2007, people were looking forward for Sunburn 2008 so were the advertisers. Not only the attendees but also there was an increase in advertisers and the level of artists. The festival was themed Electric Circus and was held on two main stages: "Banyan Tree" for Trance acts and "Circus Stage" for House music With headliners like GMS, Gareth Emery and John 00 Fleming. And various small acts like Ma faiza, Brute Force, Nawed Khan and many more. The title was sponsored by Carlsberg, Force India and Fly Kingfisher. The festival had many more sponsors like VH1, Indivibe, Mid day and many more. The festival had more than 20,000 attendees.

Sunburn 2009 :

If Sunburn ’07 marked the birth, and Sunburn ’08 marked the dramatic sequel, then Sunburn 2009 was the festival’s coming of age. Sunburn was no longer our baby, it was now our monster and looking back at 2009, the third installment was brought to the people with a monumental bang.

Sunburn by now had reached to a different level as we all assumed. With the increase in popularity and madness sunburn had more than 30,000+ fans and 35,000+ attendees. Not only this, this year Sunburn launched the after parties named " After Dark " which took place at the club Butter from 10:30pm to 5:00 am. This made Sunburn, a 24 hour festival. This year, the festival was headlined by Armin Van Buuren, Roger Sanchez along with many small acts like Pearl, Ma faiza, Jalabee cartel and many more. This festival had many sponsors and partner like Inox, Submerge, Awdio, Canon and many more.

Sunburn 2010 : 

Not only the organizers, but also the attendees had an opportunity to showcase their talent in Sunburn festival. Percept ran a contest named " Sunburn Anthem Contest " fro potential audio and video producers. Participants in the visual category were made to make a visual for a B.R.E.E.D. track and in the audio category, participants were suppose to make a audio remix for "Love Story" which was a track by Nadia Ali. It was also the Sunburn anthem. The festival was headlined by Paul Van Dyk, Axewell and Ferry Corsten along with Ma faiza, Aly and Fila, Nadia Ali and many more.

Sunburn 2011 :

By now we all can see, Sunburn had reached a different level and expectations and attendees were high and growing higher day by day, year by year. Not only the local attendees but also there are a lot of national and International attendees from across the globe. This year sunburn festival was headlined by Above and Beyond, Pete Tong, Infected Mushroom, Axewell along with Skazi, Toca Disco, Prok and Fitch and many more. A crazy music dance festival with 7 stages and 120 artists, Sunburn, Goa, 2011 left more than 1,00,000+ fans SUNBURNT. Making the event one the of the biggest events in the event industry.

Sunburn 2012, Mumbai :

 This year, Sunburn festival did a new experiment and for the first time Sunburn Festival held place in Mumbai. April, 2012, Sunburn festival took place in The Tulip Star, Juhu. The festival was a success leaving Mumbai totally awestruck and spell bound. The headliners included various international djs like Gareth Emery, Aly and Fila, Skazi along with Jitter, Ankytrixx, Janux and many more. Sunburn Mumbai was also a 3 day music festival mainly with EDM genre.

Sunburn 2012, Colombo :

Mark of growth of Sunburn festival and the popularity, this year Sunburn goes international. Sunburn makes its entry to Colombo, Sri lanka. Percept has partnered with the Citrus Group – Sri Lanka’s fastest growing leisure group– to bring to Sri Lanka Sunburn’s very first international edition of Asia’s largest music festival ! Just one day before Sunburn Noida, Sunburn Colombo kicks off with headliners like Afrojack, Arnej, Arjun vagale along with Pearl, Bobby Burns, Shaan and many more.

Sunburn Noida, 2012 :

Just one day after Sunburn Colombo, Sunburn Noida kicks off with one of the same line up as Sunburn Colombo. Sunburn Noida took place in Noida at the Unitech Golf Course along the Noida Expressway. Sunburn Noida was headlined by Afrojack, Arnej, Astral Projection along with Pearl, Bobby Burns and many more. Sunburn Noida left the crowd totally awestruck. The sets of Afrojack set Sunburn Noida on fire and led the crowd to total madness.

Sunburn Goa, 2012 :

The sixth edition of Sunburn Goa kicks off this year with one of the leading artists in Candolim Beach, Goa. With the leading top djs like Fedde le Grand, Sander Van Doorn, Paul Van Dyk along with BT, Roger Sanchez, W & W. Sunburn Goa was an overwhelming success this year. With more than 1 lakh crazy fans. Sunburn took off to a different level making its name in the event industry. Sunburn festival wrote its name in the event history as one of the biggest music dance festivals of India. Sunburn festival is the most awaited festival through out the year and delivers a promising event to their fans.
