Lucas Cornelis van Scheppingen, namely famous as Laidback Luke was born on October 22nd 1976, in Manila, Philippines. He is a Dutch DJ producer and is ranked at no. 29 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's list in 2012. Currently he is ranked at No. 29 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's in 2012. Luke was born in Philippines and grew up in Netherlands. Before making a name in music he made his name as a graffiti artist. Luke has also worked with many artists including Steve Angello, Axwell, David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso, Junior Sanchez and Example. Luke also released two studio albums 'Psyched up' (1998) and 'Electronic Satisfaction' (2002), also a mix album 'Windmill Skill' (2003). Crescendolls, the song by Daft Punk was remixed by Luke in 2003 for their duo remix album Daft Club. As a free covermount CD of October 2008 issue of Mixmag, Luke released his mix album named 'Ibiza Closing Party'. 'Cream Ibiza Super You & Me', Luke's next album was released in July 2011. Laidback Luke, in 2012, was nominated as the best European DJ award in the 27th Dance Music Awards.

Reportedly, there has been a rumor that Luke operates his own protein and weightgain products brands named 'iBeefer'. However Luke puts the rumor aside by stating "I've seen people tweet about that, I have no idea where that came from. That's such a joke" in an interview with Sol Republic.

GARETH EMERY

 

Gareth Thomas Rhys Emery better known as Gareth Emery, GTR, Rue De Gar, Runaway. The English Electronic dance music producer and DJ was born on 18th July, 1980. He was born in Southampton, England. He has been the highest ranked British DJ in DJ's Magazine's annual Top 100 poll since 2009 at rank #7. Even though Gareth Emery was born in Southampton, England, he has a Welsh heritage too. Till the age of 26, Gareth Emery lived in Southampton and then relocated to Manchester where runs a night and a record label called Garuda. Gareth Emery has passed out from University of Warwick with a degree in politics. He also supports Southampton Football Club and is trained in classic piano. He played guitar in a punk band in the mid-nineties  before getting involved in electronic music. Emery's style as described by him as simple but effective is a distinctive production style inclusive of Trance, House and Progressive. Although he is described as a Trance DJ. Though he has contradicted this by stating that he simply plays good music regardless of genre.

Emery released his debut Nervous Breakdown in early 2002, which was a white label remix of The Shrink's classic. Judge Jules from BBC Radio 1 broadcasted the track live from the Mardi Gras Festival is February 2002 which bought Gareth to the attention of the Electronic Music Community.
However his third release : GTR - Mistral is considered as the track which launched his career. He created the track in a course of a holiday of two weeks in Provence with the purely help of his laptop.
Emery received support from world's top DJ's including Armin van Buuren, Tiesto and Ferry Corsten and Paul van Dyk also debuted the track live on the radio during the Nature One festival, 2002.
The track also received a lot of positive reviews from Mixmag, DJ Magazine and Muzik. Gareth Emery's rank kept changing every year in DJ Mag's Top 100 poll making him a better DJ and a better rank holder every year. In 2006 #34, in 2007 #31, in 2008 #23, in 2009 #9, in 2010 #7.

A total of four music CD'S were released by Emery in his career : The Five AM Sessions (2005), The Podcast Annual (2007), The Sound Of Garuda (2009) and The Sound Of Garuda: Chapter 2 (2011). He released his debut album Northern Lights which was released in 2010 and achieved considerable success reaching to no.1 in the US iTunes dance chart. "Sanctuary", on the most successful tracks of Emery was also featured in this album. The song was also voted as the 2nd biggest track of 2010 by Armin Van Buuren's A State Of Trance radio show listeners. Later, it became the most played record of 2011 on US Sirius XM Radio dance station BPM. A remixed album named Northern Lights Re-Lit with remixes of various DJ's including Arty, Hardwell, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Lange and many more was released in 2011. He also collaborated with Britney Spears, Armin van Buuren and Above and Beyond for various remixes since 2002.

Emery co-owner now defunct label Five AM from 2003 to 2008 under which some of his big hits were released like Mistral, This is That, More than Anything. Later in 2008, Emery announced the quit of Five AM and start of his own record label Garuda which was completely owned by him. The first release of Garuda was Emery's own record Exposure / Metropolis in May 2009.

Since then, Gareth has released all his records through Garuda. His record label is named after a bird like creature which he became aware of while touring Indonesia. It is a bird like creature from Hindu and Buddhist Mythology. The label has also released records by many other artists like M.I.K.E., Blake Jarrell, Tritonal and Ben Gold. Manchester Superclub Sankeys was voted DJ Mag's No. 1 club in the world in 2010 occasionally had club nights run by Emery's label. Few guests of the club were top DJ's like Sander Van Doorn, Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond and Ferry Corsten.


Emery produced the 'Gareth Emery Podcast' in March 2006. The podcast is generally 60 minutes long. It featured 15 tracks in a radio show format. It covered a wide range of genres. Initially fortnightly but now its weekly broadcasted. It was nominated thrice for the "Best Podcast" at Miami Winter Music Conference's International Dance Music Awards. It is also considered as one of the first dance music podcasts.

Emery launched his radio show in North America in July 2012, Named : 'Gareth Emery Presents' on the Sirius XM Channel Electric Area (Channel 52). The show airs at 5pm ET Fridays and repeat at 8pm ET Tuesdays.

Nick van de Wall, commonly known as Afrojack was born on 9th September 1987. He is a Dutch music producer and DJ. Afrojack was born in Spijkenisse, Netherlands. Afrojack was listed as no. 7 on DJ Mag Top 100 Dj's of 2011. Afrojack is currently ranked at no. 9 on the list. Afrojack's entry into the poll at no. 19 was the highest new entry of that year.

Take over control featuring Eva Simons and Afrojack charted at quite a number of countries. He also created an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 in July 2010. Afrojack released his album named Lost & Found in December 2010. Afrojack started his 2011 by remixing Ian Carey and Snopp Dogg's single Last Night. Later, he was featured on Pitbulls hit single Give Me Everything Tonight. Run the world (girls) by Beyonce also had Afrojacks contribution. Afrojack was awarded European Border Breakers Award in January 2012. Sidney Samson, R3hab, Afrojack and many more Dutchhouse Djs are signed onto the label named Wall Recordings run by Afrojack himself. His track " Annies Theme " was first exclusively previewed on BBC Radio 1 by Annie Mac. The single was later released as an extended mix.

HARDWELL

Dutch progressive and electro house produce and mixer, DJ Hardwell was born on January 7, 1988 in Breda, Netherlands. He is better known by his stage name Hardwell but his original birth name is Robbert van de Corput. Hardwell has produced multiple EDM hits such as "Encoded" and "Cobra" after creating a sensation in 2009 with his song "Show Me Love vs. Be". Hardwell has also collaborated and toured with Tiesto. Hardwell formed his own label in 2010 by the name of Revealed Recordings. He was also ranked number 24 on DJ Mag's top 100 DJ's for 2011. Hardwell gained a few positions and reached number 6 in 2012. STEVE AOKI

Steve Hiroyuki Aoki, namely famous as Steve Aoki was born on November 30, 1977. He is an American electro house musician and record producer. He was also the founder of Dim Mak Records.

Steve Aoki was born in Miami and grew up in Newport Beach, California. Aoki graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995. Steve Aoki studied in the University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated with two B.A's in Sociology and Women's Studies. Aoki formed do-it-yourself records in college and ran underground concerts in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative which was located in Isla Vista. Soon Aoki's apartment became famous as a concert venue known as "The Pickle Patch". Dim Mak was his own record label built in the early 20s after his childhood hero, Bruce Lee. Not only this, Aoki was also a part of various bands like This Machine Kills, which released an album on Ebullition Records, Esperanza, and The Fire Next Time.

Aoki founded his own label, Dim Mak Records, in 1996. The label has released music by other electro house artists such as The Bloody Beetroots, Felix Cartel, MSTRKRFT, Mustard Pimp, Klaxons, Scanners, Whitey, and Mystery Jets.. He has also teamed up with Blake Miller of the LA-based band Moving Units to produce remixes. Aoki's solo album, "WonderLand" was released in January 2012 which featured guest musicians like LMFAO, Kid Cudi, Travis Barker and many more
Aoki has also been busy in various collaborations with other fellow producers and released his singles with artists like The Bloody Beetroots, Afrojack, Tiesto, Tai and more. Aoki has also shown teasers of his future collaborations with artists like Diplo, Rune, Dirtyphonics and many more. Aoki has also remixed for various artists and bands like Eminem, Kid Cudi, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne and many more.

Through his constant touring he gained huge support from colleges. Performing an average of 250 shows a year, he has recently started touring with production via bus tours like the spring 2012 Deadmeat Tour. Aoki has also headlined over 55 cities in 60 dates across the United States and Canada. Aoki collaborates with  many other artists to make appearances on tour with him. He has also played lesser-travelled regions -- in 2009 he played a show in Beijing, China with Diplo.


Aoki has recently worked on a single with Rivers Cuomo and Lucas Secon.
In July 2012, Aoki was added to the Pollstar Top 100 North American Tours in their 2012 Mid Year Report The list designated Aoki as the highest grossing dance artist in North America for the first half of the year.


Aoki recently toured India which left India totally spell bound. Leading the show totally sold out, Kitty Su was led to a total madness with Steve Aoki performing. In 2006, Aoki launched a clothing line name " The Dim Mak collection ". Reportedly, a new fashion range designed by Steve Aoki and his sister Devon Aoki will be releasing in near future.In 2007, Aoki and friend Greger, the owner of WeSC, came up with the idea together to do the "Aoki headphones." They used different shades of green, because that was Aoki's favorite color at the time. Aoki designed new headphones each season for 3 years for WeSC. Aoki is a founding partner in the headphone company and is also working closely with Sol Republic. Aoki has helped develop and design shoes under his name and is also endorsed by Supra Footwear. Just like his father, Aoki is a co-owner in two restaurants also. One in Los Angeles and one in New York City. Eveleigh on Sunset Boulevard & Kitchen 24 on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. Aoki also co-owns a management company called DECKSTAR with his manager Lawrence Vavra, Matt Colon and Paul Rosenberg.The roster boasts artists such as Blink 182, Holy Ghost!, Infected Mushroom, and Rancid.
Aoki has co-founded and is now developing a website that attracts college students to sell, buy, share books, rent rooms, post events called PILLOWFACE.^[19] It's function is similar to Craiglist but that it targets and is exclusively for college students. When he went on his Dead Meat Tour across the United States and Canada in January through March 2012 he was promoting the website to all the colleges across the country.
Aoki has also created his own magazine titled " Aoki " through a celebrity magazine publishing called MyMag in November 2009.

SUNBURN FESTIVAL

Sunburn is an electronic dance music festival held in Candolim Beach, Goa, India. Its main genre of music is Electronic Dance, Trance, House and Dubstep. The festival is a combination of music, entertainment, food and shopping. It was also ranked the ninth best festival in the world by CNN in 2009. The festival is organized by Shailendra Singh of Percept, in partnership with Nikhil Chinapa.

Sunburn is not only a festival anymore, its a brand of its own. Initially started in 2007 in Goa, Sunburn is a 3 day music dance festival held at the Candolim Beach, Goa. With one of the top dj's across the globe, sunburn features various stages playing simultaneously. After the success of Sunburn 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 in Goa. Percept organized their first ever Sunburn festival outside Goa in Colombo, Mumbai and Delhi in 2012. With a massive crowd and crazy music fans, these Sunburn festivals were also reportedly a great success, taking the Sunburn festival to a different level.

Sunburn 2007 :

Early 2007, Percept had a brainchild. India needed to experience its very own festival. Not just any festival, but the cream of the crop of festivals in the country. This was Devraj Sanyal, Manuj Agarwal and Aman Anand’s calling and together they conspired to give birth to India’s own festival of a legend. Sunburn 2007, Goa, a festival, an extravagance event. It gave a new birth to the event industry in India. With a number of sponsors and partners, Sunburn festival was a massive hit and it gave India a lifetime experience which was much needed. The line up included one of the top dj's like Above and Beyond, Axewell, Carl Cox, John 00 Fleming, Pearl, Midival Punditz as the headliner with various more small acts consisting of Jalabee Cartel, Nawed khan, Clement and many more. The festival was hosted by Nikhil Chinapa and Rohit Barker. The event partners and sponsors were Smirnoff, Submerge, Tito's, PDM and many more.

Sunburn 2008 :

Sunburn festival reached another year full of mixed emotions since Sunburn 2007 reached a different level, expectations and artist line up was raised to a different level. With the success of Sunburn 2007, people were looking forward for Sunburn 2008 so were the advertisers. Not only the attendees but also there was an increase in advertisers and the level of artists. The festival was themed Electric Circus and was held on two main stages: "Banyan Tree" for Trance acts and "Circus Stage" for House music With headliners like GMS, Gareth Emery and John 00 Fleming. And various small acts like Ma faiza, Brute Force, Nawed Khan and many more. The title was sponsored by Carlsberg, Force India and Fly Kingfisher. The festival had many more sponsors like VH1, Indivibe, Mid day and many more. The festival had more than 20,000 attendees.

Sunburn 2009 :

If Sunburn ’07 marked the birth, and Sunburn ’08 marked the dramatic sequel, then Sunburn 2009 was the festival’s coming of age. Sunburn was no longer our baby, it was now our monster and looking back at 2009, the third installment was brought to the people with a monumental bang.

Not only the organizers, but also the attendees had an opportunity to showcase their talent in Sunburn festival. Percept ran a contest named " Sunburn Anthem Contest " fro potential audio and video producers. Participants in the visual category were made to make a visual for a B.R.E.E.D. track and in the audio category, participants were suppose to make a audio remix for "Love Story" which was a track by Nadia Ali. It was also the Sunburn anthem. The festival was headlined by Paul Van Dyk, Axewell and Ferry Corsten along with Ma faiza, Aly and Fila, Nadia Ali and many more.

By now we all can see, Sunburn had reached a different level and expectations and attendees were high and growing higher day by day, year by year. Just one day after Sunburn Colombo, Sunburn Noida kicks off with one of the same line up as Sunburn Colombo. Sunburn Noida took place in Noida at the Unitech Golf Course along the Noida Expressway. Sunburn Noida was headlined by Afrojack, Arnej, Astral Projection along with Pearl, Bobby Burns and many more. Sunburn Noida left the crowd totally awestruck. The sets of Afrojack set Sunburn Noida on fire and led the crowd to total madness.
